BBC Make it Digital|Traineeship

My name is Jodie Mason I am 21 and an aspiring creative entrepreneur. When I left school I didn't have the drive to go to university; so I took part in different courses and training programs in order to figure out where I wanted to be in life.
I went to work In Virginia, USA at a summer camp for adults with mental and physical disabilities where I spent a lot of time meeting new people and becoming creative in the way that I worked to best suit them and found that being creative was who I am.
This BBC traineeship has exceeded my expectations with its exciting content and mature work place approach, I have gained so much from the traineeship and since then I have become a digital marketing apprentice with Creative Alliance.
Camp America 2012 - 2013
I was employed as a counsellor at a summer camp for adults with special needs. The camp was in Virginia, USA and travelled there unaccompanied to join a team of eleven other international staff who had not met before.
I had responsibility for the full needs of three campers each week. I assisted them with toileting, personal care, feeding, administering medication and monitoring their health needs. The campers had a variety of diagnoses such as; autism, severe learning disability, amputation severe epilepsy, deaf, blind and non-verbal. We assisted our clients during various activities; art and craft, swimming, trips to theme parks and restaurants.
McTunneys Sweet Emporium
As a case study I used McTunneys Sweet Emporium to promote using digital media. I created a website using Wix explaining who they are, what they sell, how to contact them and where they are based.
I made use of comment boxes, a contact app and sliding galleries to best show off their products and for customer feedback.
To the left are screen shots of a few of the pages of the website I created and below this text is the direct link to my up and running website.
Above is an example of a story board I created for the short film documentary I produced and edited for the BBC Academy.
Ping Pong: A Day In The Life At The BBC Make It Digital Academy
I had the responsibility of producing and editing a short film documentary which was filmed around the Custard Factory which tries to enforce a positive image of people on ESA/JSA.
This video was shot in a day using a Canon SLR and edited on Windows Movie Maker.
